What is the DigiShakti Scheme?The Government of Uttar Pradesh launched the DigiShakti Scheme to digitally empower students of the state. Under this scheme, Tablet PCs and Smartphones are distributed to students studying in various Educational Institutions of UP during the academic year 2021-2022. The scheme also provides access to educational and career-related content for the students' empowerment. Who is eligible for this scheme?Students enrolled in Graduation, Post-Graduation, Diploma, Skill Development, MSME, and other courses related to Higher Education, Technical Education, ITIs, and Medical Education in UP for the academic year 2021-2022 are eligible for the scheme. This includes students from both government and private universities or institutes in Uttar Pradesh. I study in UP but belong to a different state. Am I eligible?Yes, any student studying in UP during the academic year 2021-2022, irrespective of their native state or nationality, is eligible for this scheme. Even international students enrolled in UP institutions during this period can benefit from it. I am a resident of Uttar Pradesh but studying in another state. Am I eligible?No, this scheme is only applicable to students studying within Uttar Pradesh in the academic year 2021-2022. Do students need to register on any portal for the scheme?No, students do not need to register or apply online. The scheme’s benefits are automatically processed, and the respective institutions will inform students about the distribution status through SMS, email, or their official website. Who can access the DigiShakti portal?The portal can be accessed by Universities, Boards, Societies, Councils, Colleges, Institutes, and Nodal Officers at the District Administration Level. The authorized users’ logins will be created by software administrators, and login details will be sent to their registered mobile numbers or email addresses. How is the students’ data submitted on the portal?There is no student registration required. Data is submitted by their institutions through a technical process defined by the government. Universities and colleges are responsible for submitting student data, and students will be informed via official communications. Do students have to pay for the devices?No, there is no fee to be paid by students for receiving the Tablet PCs or Smartphones under the DigiShakti Scheme. Where can students check the distribution schedule?Students are advised to regularly visit the official DigiShakti portal and their institution’s website for updates on the distribution schedule or other scheme-related information. Alternatively, they can contact their respective colleges or universities for more details. When will students receive their devices?As of December 28, 2021, over 3.7 million students’ data has been uploaded to the portal. In the first phase, devices are distributed to final-year students of all courses and those enrolled in one-year courses by March 2022. The next phase will cover other students.
