Eligibility Criteria for India Post GDS Recruitment 2025
Educational Qualification:
- Candidate must have passed 10th standard (Matriculation) from a recognized Board.
- Subjects required: Mathematics and English (as compulsory subjects).
- The candidate must have studied the local language of the state up to the 10th
standard.
Additional Requirements:

Salary Details for Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Post 2025
Pay Scale:
- Branch Postmaster (BPM): ₹12,000 - ₹29,380 per month.
- Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) / Dak Sevak: ₹10,000 - ₹24,470 per month.
- Annual increment of 3% is applicable.
Additional Allowances:
- Dearness Allowance (DA): As per government norms.
- Gratuity: Provided under the GDS Gratuity Scheme.

Selection Process for India Post GDS Recruitment 2025
Selection Criteria:
- Selection will be based on a system-generated merit list.
- Merit list will be prepared based on the 10th standard marks (Matriculation) of the candidates.
- No written exam or interview will be conducted.
- If marks are provided in grades/CGPA, they will be converted to percentage using the government formula.
- Higher educational qualification will not be given any additional weightage.
Merit List Preparation:
- If a candidate has both marks & grades in their 10th mark sheet, the higher of the two will be considered.
- If only grades are provided, marks will be calculated using the standard conversion formula (Grade x 9.5 = Percentage).
- The system will automatically normalize marks of different boards if required.
Tie-Breaking Rule:
- In case of a tie (same percentage), merit will be determined in the following order:
- Older candidate (by date of birth) will be given preference.
- ST (Trans-Woman) → ST (Female) → SC (Trans-Woman) → SC (Female) → OBC (Trans-Woman) → OBC
(Female) → EWS (Trans-Woman) → EWS (Female) → UR (Trans-Woman) → UR (Female) → ST (Trans-Male) →

Document Verification (DV):
- Shortlisted candidates will be notified via SMS and email.
- Candidates must report for physical document verification at the designated office.
