For Constable (Motor Mechanic):
Candidates must have passed Class 10th or SSC level examination from a recognized board. Additionally, candidates should fulfill one of the following criteria:
- Possess an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) certificate in the respective trade from a recognized institution, OR
- Have 3 years of work experience in the respective trade from a recognized firm.

For Head Constable (Motor Mechanic):
Candidates must have passed Class 12th or Intermediate level examination from a recognized board. Additionally, candidates should fulfill one of the following criteria:
- Hold a certificate in Motor Mechanic from a recognized institution or Industrial Training Institute along with 3 years of practical experience in the trade at a reputed workshop, OR
- Have a 3-year Diploma in Automobile Engineering from a recognized institution.

ITBP Head Constable & Constable (Motor Mechanic) Recruitment Pay Scale (2024)
- Constable (Motor Mechanic) Pay Scale: ₹21,700 – ₹69,100 (Level 3 as per 7th Pay Commission)
- Head Constable (Motor Mechanic) Pay Scale: ₹25,500 – ₹81,100 (Level 4 as per 7th Pay Commission)
- Additional Benefits: Selected candidates will also be entitled to allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and other benefits as per ITBP rules.

PHASE-I: Physical Tests
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
- Race: 1.6 KM (To be completed within 7 minutes and 30 seconds)
- Long Jump: 3.5 feet (3 chances allowed)
- High Jump: 3.5 feet (3 chances allowed)
- Note: No marks will be awarded for PET, but it is qualifying in nature. PET will not be conducted for Ex-servicemen.
- Physical Standard Test (PST):
- Measurement of height, chest, and weight will be conducted.
- If not qualified, a rejection slip will be issued.
- Appeal Process: Candidates can appeal for re-measurement on the same day by writing to the Presiding Officer.
- The Presiding Officer's decision will be final and binding.
- Underweight/overweight candidates can proceed but will be reviewed during the Detailed Medical Examination (DME).
