Eligibility Criteria for Junior Assistant (Fire Service)
Educational Qualification:
- 10th Pass + 3 years approved regular Diploma in Mechanical / Automobile / Fire, OR
- 12th Pass (Regular Study).
Driving License:
- Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License, OR
- Valid Medium Vehicle License issued at least one year before the date of advertisement (01/11/2024), OR
- Valid Light Motor Vehicle License (LMV) issued at least two years before the date of advertisement (01/11/2024).
Candidates with Medium or Light Motor Vehicle licenses must acquire a Heavy Duty Driving License within one year of appointment during the probation period.
Physical Eligibility:
- Height: Minimum 167 cm for men and 157 cm for women. Relaxation of 3 cm for candidates from hilly areas with valid certificates.
- Chest (for men only): Normal - 81 cm, Expansion - Minimum 5 cm. Relaxation of 3 cm in chest measurements for hilly area candidates.
- Weight: Minimum 55 kg for men and 45 kg for women. Proportionate relaxation in weight for hilly area candidates.
- Eye Sight:
- Distance Vision: 6/6 for each eye without glasses.
- Near Vision: N-5 for each eye without glasses.
- Color Vision: Normal (tested using Ishihara's charts).
- Night Blindness: Absent.
- Field of Vision: Full field of vision for each eye.
- No refractive error or other visual impairments allowed.
- Hearing: Normal.
- Speech: Normal.
- Disqualifications: Knocking knees, bow legs, squint, flat foot, chronic diseases, or major operations affecting fitness.
Salary Details
The selected candidates for the post of Junior Assistant (Fire Service) in AAI will be entitled to a pay scale as per the NE-4 level:
- Pay Scale: ₹31,000 – ₹92,000 (with 3% annual increment).

Selection Process for Junior Assistant (Fire Service)
Stage 1: Written Exam (Computer Based Test - CBT)
- The written exam will be conducted online and will be of 2 hours duration.
- Minimum pass marks:
- UR/EWS/OBC: 50 out of 100
- SC/ST: 40 out of 100
- Syllabus:
- Part A: 50% questions on subjects related to the educational qualifications required for the post.
- Part B: 50% questions on General Knowledge, General Intelligence, General Aptitude, and English.
Stage 2: Physical Fitness and Medical Examination
- Shortlisted candidates from the written exam will undergo document verification followed by a Medical Examination (Physical Measurement Test).
- Only candidates who meet the medical standards will proceed to the next stage.
Stage 3: Driving Test
- Candidates must possess a valid driving license (Heavy/Medium/Light Vehicle) for this test.
- Only candidates passing the driving test will be eligible for the Physical Endurance Test (PET).
Stage 4: Physical Endurance Test (PET)
- The Physical Endurance Test will include the following tasks:
- 100-meter Running
- Casualty Carrying Test (Carrying a sandbag for 50 meters)
- Pole Climbing
- Rope Climbing
- Ladder Climbing and Descending
- Minimum qualifying marks: 60 out of 100.
- Ex-Agniveers are exempted from the Physical Endurance Test but must meet other requirements.
Final Merit List
- The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the Written Exam (CBT).
- The Physical Endurance Test is qualifying in nature and will not contribute to the final score.
Training and Appointment
- Selected candidates will undergo an 18-week Basic Training Course (BTC) at designated training centers.
- A stipend of ₹25,000 per month will be provided during training.
- Appointment orders will be issued only after successful completion of the training.
