The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to administer the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for the January 2024 Exam. Candidates interested in this examination and meeting the eligibility requirements can submit their online applications between November 3, 2023, and November 23, 2023.

Application fees

    For Single Paper:


  • General / OBC / EWS:- 1,000/- (Rs one thousand only).
  • SC / ST :- 500/- (Rs five hundred only).

    For Both Paper Primary / Junior:


  • General / OBC / EWS :- 1200/- (Rs one thousand two hundred only).
  • SC / ST (With Late Fee) :- 600/- (Rs six hundred only).


CTET Eligibility Class I-V 2024

  • To become a teacher for students in Class 1 to 5, candidates must appear for the CTET Paper I examination. The eligibility criteria for CTET Paper I are as follows:

    1. The candidate must have completed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and must have passed or be appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
    2. The candidate must have completed Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and must have passed or be appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.OR
    3. The candidate must have completed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and must have passed or be appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.OR
    4. Candidates who possess "Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)" are now eligible to become teachers for Classes I-V: Primary Stage. Such candidates must undergo a mandatory six-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE within two years of their appointment as a primary teacher.OR
    5. Post-Graduation candidates with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade and a three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. program are also eligible to appear for the CTET Paper I examination.OR
    6. It is important to note that the diploma/degree course in teacher education should be recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) or the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), as applicable. Candidates who meet the above eligibility criteria can apply for the CTET Paper I exam and pursue their career in teaching primary school students.


CTET Eligibility Class VI-VIII 2024

  • To teach students from Class 6 to 8, candidates must appear for the CTET Paper II examination. Here is the complete CTET Eligibility Criteria 2023 for Paper II:

    1. The candidate must have completed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and must have passed or be appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)/B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed. OR
    2. The candidate must have completed Graduation and passed or be appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.OR
    3. The candidate must have completed Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or be appearing in a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)/B.Ed. (Special Education).OR
    4. The candidate must have completed graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or be appearing in a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure).OR
    5. Any candidate having a qualified B.Ed Programme recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TET/CTET.OR
    6. Post-Graduation candidates with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade and a three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. program are also eligible to appear for the CTET Paper II examination.
    7. It is important to note that the diploma/degree course in teacher education should be recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) or the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), as applicable.
