UPSC NDA & NA I Examination Eligibility Criteria
- Army (National Defence Academy - NDA): Candidates must have passed the 10+2
Intermediate Exam from any recognized board.
- Navy (National Defence Academy - NDA): Candidates must have passed 10+2
with Physics and Mathematics as subjects from any recognized board.
- Air Force (National Defence Academy - NDA): Candidates must have passed
10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as subjects from any recognized board.
- Naval Academy (10+2 Cadet Entry): Candidates must have passed 10+2 with
Physics and Mathematics from any recognized board.

UPSC NDA Exam 2025 Selection Process
- Application Submission - Candidates fill out the online application form on the
UPSC website.
- Admit Card Release - Download the admit card for the written exam.
- Written Examination -
- Stage 1: General Knowledge, English, and Mathematics test for NDA Army, Navy, and Air
Force.
- Stage 2: General Knowledge and English test for NDA Naval Academy.
- Stage 1: General Knowledge, English, and Mathematics test for NDA Army, Navy, and Air
Force.
- Result of Written Exam - Shortlisted candidates are announced for the SSB
interview.
- SSB Interview - Includes psychological tests, group discussions, and personal
interviews.
- Medical Examination - Candidates undergo a medical check-up to meet the required
health standards.
- Final Merit List - Successful candidates are selected based on written exam and SSB
performance.
- Training - Selected candidates are called for training at their respective
academies (NDA Army, Navy, Air Force, Naval Academy).
Examination Scheme for NDA 2025
- Written Test - As outlined below.
- Interview - Intelligence and personality assessment conducted by the Services
Selection Board (SSB).
Subjects for the Written Exam
- For Admission to National Defence Academy (Army, Navy, Air Force) and Naval
Academy:
- Mathematics (2.5 Hours - 300 Marks)
- General Ability Test (2.5 Hours - 600 Marks)
- Mathematics (2.5 Hours - 300 Marks)
- The total marks for the written exam are 900, and for the SSB interview, it is 900, making a total
of 1800 marks.
- All questions will be objective-type.
- The question papers for Mathematics and Part-B of the General Ability Test will be bilingual (Hindi
and English).
- Candidates must write answers by hand. No scribe assistance will be allowed.
- Calculators and any other electronic devices are prohibited inside the exam hall.

- The standard of General Ability Test will be equivalent to the 10+2 level of an Indian
